Me!

I had the rosemary crusted pork roast, green bean casserole, and fries today. I thought it was pretty good. Ike's is one of my favorites in Downtown Indy. Follow them on Twitter: http://www.twitter.com/ikeandjonesys for daily lunch specials and also to see their evening specials.

Tell us what you had and your thoughts on today!

I had a patty melt with fries. The burger needed salt and pepper to bring out their flavor. Overall it was a messy juicy burger - which is how it should be. The fries were crinkle cut - crispy outside and moist inside. I added salt and they were very good. I suppose they are being health conscious. Lots of conversations and a good time was had by all.

I chose the Friday special Tilapia sandwich with pasta salad. The fish itself was pretty good, but the bun was chewy. Overall, an OK plate of food. The company and conversation was what made the lunch, though.

The chili was nicely flavored -- not too spicey -- and lots of meat. A good choice for a chilly day. My only disappointment was that George didn't finish his burger (which was about a foot high). The food was great and the conversation was equally great.

The menu states that the Tenderloin is "the sandwich that made Ike and Jonesy's famous," actually I didn't know that they were famous, but I couldn't resist after such an endorsement. Shortly after the sandwich, measure 12"+ in length, showed up I remembered why I really don't like tenderloins. First, they are typically very dry. Secondly, due to their size, they are not easy to eat, especially when you're trying to carry on conversation with a group of people you've never met.

All that aside, I would say that it was a pretty good Tenderloin...if that's what your into.

I had a burger and fries. Loved the burger.
