Making people and ideas findable

Looking for opinions from HITW members on their favorite Mexican, TexMex or Hispanic eateries south of Washington St in Indy or Greenwood. Give me a little detail on why it's your favorite.
Thanks, Doug

I like El Camino in Camby. Their chips and salsa and fajita quesadilla's are always good. I know you don't drink, but they have margarita specials on Monday and Tuesday, and they have other drink specials other nights of the week. i.e. Long Island Iced Tea, Pina Colada, Bahama Mama....

I also really like El Jariepo in Plainfield. Everything that I've had there has been really good. Chips and salsa are good, margaritas great, and fajitas are the best I've had at a Mexican restaurant.

On the south side it's Los Tapatios. Good food, good service, best salsa in town. But THE BGEST MEXICAN RESTAURNAT in Indy is El Sol De Tala on East Washington Street. It doesn't look like much on the outside but the inside is Beautiful! Looks like a Mexican Villa. And the food . . . they actually cook authentic Mexican dishes like lamb, goat, Tilapia and Calamari. Everything is seasoned to perfection and the service is great. Best Guac in the world and it's made fresh to order right before your eyes. If you want a good Mexican meal, don't waste your time on the others.

Daina,

A group of SI'ers went to El Sol de Tala for Cinco de Mayo in 2008. It is really beautiful inside! The food was pretty good too. It's more authentic than any other Mexican place that I've been to. Thanks for the reminder!

I live on the Southside and have tried every Mexican restaurant. I agree with Daina, Los Tapitios has great food. Another one to try is La Villa on Madison and Stop 11, formerly known as La Hacienda. They are under new ownership. Ask for Bernardo, he runs the place and offers great service.
