I recently had my first taste of Bub's in Carmel and holy cow, I love it! I could hardly finish the "not so ugly" 1/2 lb, how does anyone eat a whole Ugly Burger (1 pound!)?? http://www.bubsburgersandicecream.com.

Recently there were two post, one regarding Lincon Square and one about Ugaldis. Here is a little history about both. The Ugaldis are a family run business and were trained in the Lincoln Square method. Art Ugaldi is the GM for the Lincoln Square at 21st and Shadeland next to the Marriott. His brothers run the Ugaldis Family Restaurants. Ugaldis have locations in Warren, Huntington,Bluffton,Rochester, and the previously mentioned on in Bunker Hill. Lincoln Square is also a family run business. They have locations in Peru(on 31) Alexandria,Kokomo,Elwood, Geist (fox and sunnyside), new at 56th and Emerson(may not be open yet but very soon) and the one mentioned on Madison Ave. How did I come about with this little nugget of information. I am in the foodservice industry and these our two of best customers. So if you are out and about and noone can agree on what to eat try either one. As mentioned befor the menus cover all bases, American,Greek,Italian,Mexican and breakfast. When I was an east sider the Divide was one of my favorite Friday night watering holes. Back before they had food.

Also in Elwood try Wolfs Tavern. Old style shotgun bar. Great fried vegitable basket. Huge burgers.

Ralph's Great Divide has been mentioned a lot. Looks like we must go there very soon.

I love going to Ralph's Great Divide at the corner of Davidson and New York Street. Great sandwiches, and their Hot Pot Aug is excellent!

I have come accross a true hole in the wall with great road food. It is called Ugaldes and is on 31 accross from Grissom Air Force Base near Peru. As a matter of fact, it is right accross from the water tower @ GAFB. They have a weird variety of food. Great breaded Tenderloin and burgers, really all sandwiches are generous and good. Chili is awesome, as are the salads(especially the greek). They have a buffet which I have been reluctant to try. Kind of a greasy spoon type roadhouse that is frequented by locals, travelers, and military personel.

I had it yesterday at the Wine Shoppe for lunch. Great place for quiet conversation and delicious local food. The wine is always nice, too.
