My husband and I moved to Irvington about 2 years ago. We have lived in the Carmel/Fishers area for most of our lives. We love Irvington! We enjoy taking walks in our neighborhood and nver get tired of looking at the beauty around us. We also love eating (and drinking) at The Legend, as well as all of the great restaurants and coffee houses in the area. There is always something to do here. I love the emphasis on art and the eco friendly environment here. (I sell my handmade, eco friendly leather purses at Blooming Dragon). We feel very welcome here!

Many of you may know that Irvington is one of the featured neighborhoods for the "Unsung Indy" campaign running April 1 through April 30th. (There are NPR ads, newspaper ads, and wrapped buses promting 5 Indy neighborhoods.)

But as Irvington devotees I know we all can SING our neighborhood's praises loudly! With that in mind, you are encouraged to bring a firend to Irvington starting today (April 6) through Sunday, April 12 to show them what makes our community so fabulous.

We sure to post on this wall and let us know who you bring (first names only!) and where you are taking them and why!

I am taking my friend Tracy who lives in Chatham Arch to Jockamos for lunch and then we are heading over to For the Love of Dogs! I want to show her how Jockamos is better than Bazbeaux! : )

For those of you that aren't already aware, I wanted to let you know that our companies HAUS | The Architecture Studio and WERK | build have moved to Irvington. An aspect of this move is a continued investment in our community (beyond our involvement with IDO and the Irvington Green Initiative).
A little background (AKA shameless self promotion): HAUS and WERK offer integrated design + build services to homeowners and business owners on a diverse list of project types, sizes and locations.
This year, WERK launched a monthly email newsletter that features a recent project(s) and highlights an aspect of our industry and services that potential clients may not be aware of or may not automatically come to mind when they are considering their needs.
If you're interested in receiving our newsletter, please drop me a line with your preferred email address. Please note, this is the only non-project specific email correspondance that we send out (we won't continually fill your inbox up with useless stuff).

The class is specially designed for the mental, physical, and spiritual health of moms-to-be.

In the interest of full disclosure, I have NOT been retained for the following call to action. I figured, as a business owner who wonders how the economy may or may not impact my business I could steal a moment and come up with an idea that could pay it forward for other business owners in my community.

The Irvington Stimulus Event - I invite fellow Irvington residents (via email, facebook and smallerindiana.com) to spend $5 per person in the household at an Irvington business on Tuesday, February 24, 2009. Coffee and a scone at Lazy Daze. Getting 4 friends together for Jockomo pizza. Grabbing a book at Book Mama's. A "new" skirt from Annie's. Breakfast at The Steer Inn....the possibilities are endless! And more ideas are welcome.

The Irvington Development Organization is looking for an intern starting in January! I just posted the listing in the Classifieds section. Check it out and pass the info along to those looking for some great (paid!!) experience at a great non-profit!

Hello!

I will be moving to Irvington in June of 2009.
Currently, I live in Minneapolis, MN where I am a theatre Producer/writer.
I used to live in Carmel, but I got most of it out of my system.
Now I have to lose the "Minnesota Nice" and become a Hoosier again.

Uphill battles are great...

See you soon!
