Making people and ideas findable

There are a bunch of films I'd like to see but I could only find one of them on the Heartland schedule (The Boy in the Striped Pajamas) and none of them are listed on the Excel spreadsheets that are posted on SI. So how do I sign up for them? If it helps, these are the films I'm interested in: Birthday Boy (animation), Flyaway (animation), The Man Who Walked Between the Towers (animation), Alone Across Australia (documentary), Forgiving Dr. Mengele (documentary), Into the Arms of Strangers (documentary), Lost Boys of Sudan (documentary), Nanking (documentary), A Secret (drama), Janie (drama) and The Boy in the Striped Pajamas (drama).

Castleton is closest to where I live, but I'd be willing to go downtown too.

Hey Michelle. Several of the films you mentioned are from past years. You can go on IMdB.com and see if there are DVDs for sale. That is really the best way - or if you are on NetFlix - several of them are available there.

As for this year - Boy is our opening night - October 16th. There are still tickets left. It is an amazing film. Hope you can join us.

Best,
Jeff Sparks

Ahhh ... I guess that wasn't clear when I was browsing the film list, but it explains why I couldn't find them on the schedule! Thanks!

Hi Michelle...I've also now updated the link in the HFF group listing here. You'll actually want to visit our Festival Community for a list of this year's films and a complete schedule. You can navigate there through the links at HeartlandFilmFestival.org or directly by clicking over to http://heartland.bside.com/2008.

Hope this helps!

CREATIVE ECONOMIC BUSINESS OPORTUNITY:
How can you become more creative in your work? One of the ways is by learning from accomplished individuals who manage to balance creativity and business acumen. This Thursday, January 29th is just such a time.

Heartland Film Institute, one of the educational components of Heartland Truly Moving Pictures, is presenting a fascinating seminar by two-time Heartland Film Festival Crystal Heart Award-winner Kurt Kuenne. Thanks to sponsors, the workshop is free and runs from 9:00 a.m. to 12 noon. There is an optional (and very informative) lunch with the filmmaker following for $10 if preregistered. It will be held at the IUPUI Campus Center near University and Michigan In Indianapolis. (www.TrulyMovingPictures.org)

SPECIAL OPTION:
There is a still an opportunity for those who love behind-the-scenes work to volunteer to help during this Film Institute. We could use your help from 8:30 to about 2:00 p.m., which is a half hour after the luncheon ends. The volunteer hours can be tracked and redeemed for free tickets during the October Heartland Film Festival. Thursday volunteers will also receive complementary lunch. You will be able to attend the majority of the sessions with Kurt Kuenne.

The best way to respond is to call Amanda Bureau at the Heartland office: 317.464.9405. Volunteers can also call me at 317.882.3198. I am the volunteer Vice Chair of the Film Institute.
You can sign up for the seminar online at http://heartlandfilminstitute0129.eventbrite.com.

If you come, you'll love it. The time is a tremendous, and very affordable, investment in your professional development. Mmm...and lots of fun!
