There are a lot of charity golf outings in Indiana this season, but I have to say (not just because its benefiting my organization) this Arby's National Charity Golf Tour at the Sagamore is turning out to be pretty cool.

Do it for the golf. I've worked these sort of scrambles before and I've attended a few, but Arby's is pulling out all the stops for its support of the Indiana Youth Institute. Some really nice participation gifts, an amazing lunch and dinner menu (nothing you'd put Arby's sauce on), and some great prizes for the competitive types.

Do it for the cause. So if you're waiting for an invitation from a charity to go golfing for a cause - here it is. You can support the Indiana Youth Institute in its efforts to get more kids quality mentors and promote academic achievement.

Do it for the networking. IYI is statewide and our business partners and supporters are coming in from every corner of the state. Arby's is treating regional vendors and clients.

Take a three day weekend. Schedule the day off July 27th and contact me here on SI if you're interested.

They are private but will take outings on Mondays..private courses will take outings from outside most of the time as long as they are on Monday or during down time.

Jake not to spread rumors but I would check into Sagamore as I heard they are in some limbo with management of the course and possibly not having golf this year. Like I said it was second hand but from a good source. Fundraiser turnout is based more on the cause and tourney specifics for the cost. If you have a good cause, charge a fair price and give them a good meal the course doesnt need to be super high end

The Sagamore. In your opinion, will this attract golfers for a fundraiser?

I didnt realize you were employed as the membership director until I checked out your page. I wish you luck in growing the membership as I truly think Harbour Trees is a great place with great members. I actually won the fundraiser scramble in October.

Hi Chris- nice to e-meet you! Yes, things are actually going really well here at the Trees. I joined in June 2008 in this new position and I must say we are positioned very well for 2009; probably better than most area clubs. Its exciting!
I didn't really golf with members last season, just my husband and a couple of prospects. This year, I want to drop-in the ladies leagues when I can!

Lorryn I used to be the assistant at Harbour Trees for 5 years. I hope everything is going well there I know it is tough to get members these days. It is truly one of the best golf courses around that people dont know about. Who do you play golf with there?
