ELI Envoys: Volunteer Leaders

The Emergent Leadership Institute's "Envoys" program provides its members with volunteer and networking opportunities to champion youth service. By partnering with over 160 local nonprofits, we help pair interests with opportunities.

Being An Envoy

Benefits
1) Dibs on volunteering at all Live Nation summer concerts at Verizon Music Center and White River Lawn.
2) Invitations to special and free "ELI Stakeholder" events, such as concerts, sports and social gatherings.
3) Notification of special volunteer opportunities.
4) Notification of professional development events around Indianapolis.
5) Opportunities to network with local, statewide and national government officials while advocating for youth service.
6) Networking with service-minded professionals.
7) Potential service on ELI's Board of Directors' committees.
8) E-newsletter subscription.
9) Having your support of ELI and the community be multiplied by volunteer efforts of the young people we serve.

Expectations

1) Participate in the Envoy volunteer program.
2) Attend 50 percent of Envoy quarterly fun/draisers.
3) Recruit four new Envoys during the year.

How To Join
1) Demonstrate a passion for youth volunteerism and the mission of ELI.
2) Attend one "Engage With ELI" gathering.
3) If you can afford to, please make a tax-deductible contribution. The amount is at each person's discretion - for a starting point, it costs ELI $40 to place one student as a volunteer.

A few things to consider before joining Smaller Indiana:
1. Please use your real name (first and last) when you sign up, or we cannot open your account

2. Please do not use logos or commercial images for your profile photo

3. Events should be posted in the events calendar

4. You can post pretty much anything you want on your own personal page (self promotion, etc), and you can change the style of your personal profile page to reflect your corporate identification if you so choose.

5. Please keep all comments civil and polite. It's OK to feel strongly about a subject, and it's OK to be critical of ideas, but please refrain from personal attacks of any kind.
