I'm a 2008 Butler grad. I remember visiting the Butler campus for the first time when I was a very little girl and it made an impression on me. When it was time for college, I chose Butler and have been reaping the benefits ever since!

I attended Butler on a track scholarship from 1976 to 1980. I was invited back in 1983 as the first graduate assistant coach in Men's track and given the job of starting the Women's Cross Country program. I finished my undergrad in 1984 and went on to teach and coach at the high school level. I was again invited back to Butler in 1990 as the head coach for Women's cross country and track. My task was to take the Women's program to the Division I level as the NCAA mandated. I served for three years, stepping down to become a volunteer coach for my own kids. It was all quite an honor. Needless to say, I bleed BLUE !

Hi Kristen: As I mentioned in my note to you earlier, my daughter is a senior at Butler this year in the Media Arts department and a Delta Gamma who just completed her Summer internship at CMT [Country Music Television] in Nashville, Tennessee. As a proud parent I also have to share that Kate is a 28-time AAU National Karate Champion, a 2nd degree black-belt, who has competed in Japan [two consecutive years] and earlier, competed in Budapest, Hungary, as well as around the United States over a 10-year period. Can you blame me for being proud of my baby girl? Noah
