Making people and ideas findable

Taking advantage of a situation, when the other contractors in my group
whose contracts expire next week asked me where should be go for lunch I
picked. Instead of the "safe, but good" choice of Culver's. which has
one of the best fast food chain burgers, I chose Taylor's Pub III, just
across the street at East 56th and Post Road. Since it's a bar and
smoking is allowed them a chance to back out and go for Culver's. They
all went with Taylor's. Located in a nondescript strip mall, am I being
redundant?, the exterior belies the interior. It's a very nice
wood-paneled pub with several flat screen tvs. The wait staff was an
impressive group of helpful, efficient, knowledgeable and attractive
young women. While it was smoky when we arrived, most of the smokers
left and it was fairly pleasant. Maybe we just got used to it.

Now for the burger itself. While I prefer to "build my own" for
consistency of review purposes, I took the menu's advice an ordered
something pretty close to my "usual", the only difference being sauteed
mushrooms. Joanna, our server asked how we'd like it cooked. Four of the
five of us ordered the Taylor Made burger from a variety of medium rare
to medium well. Of course mine was medium rare, e coli be damned. Each
was cooked appropriately. The patty itself looked a little too perfect
for handmade, but we were assured it was hand pattied from 8 oz. of
fresh burger.

The visual appeal of the burger was stunning. Grilled red onions, melted
Monterrey Jack cheese, bacon, sauteed mushrooms served with tomato,
lettuce, pickle slices and a garlic dill spear. At $7.75 it was a
bargain because that included fries. Mighty fine fries too! While Megan
and Stephanie attacked their burgers, uncut, like she-beasts, I chose to
cut mine. Simply because I like that last double bite of oozing cheese,
burger and soggy bun, twice.

This burger was done perfectly, medium rare with the right amount of
juiciness, no mayo required! I didn't make it out of the restaurant
without several juice spots on my shirt. The bun was certainly a cut
above average and had the "kaiser roll" look and a nice smoky, grilled
flavor. Rarely will a bun add or detract much from the rating, but this
one was clearly above average and large enough to cover most of the
pattie. All of the ingredients meshed well to give a perfectly
satisfying taste to this masterpiece. It was sloppy, juicy, flavorful,
and cooked on a broiler similar to Tie Dye, complete with grill marks.

While it's not quite strong enough to bump Tie Dye or Barringer's it's
certainly the equal to Bub's or Ike & Jonesy's. If you want a great
burger and smoke afterwards or have drink this has to rank highly on
your list. It's only a short drive down from Castleton and it's worth
it.

I took a photo with my iPhone, but haven't gotten the sync stuff worked out yet. It was picture perfect.
