Hello, I am new to the group and wanted to introduce myself as well. My name is Toby Reeves, and I am President of Rescott, LLC Marketing & Technology, a small technology innovator in Carmel.

Over the years, we've blended our expertise in I.T. network support with internet solutions. We still provide computer I.T. support to small to medium sized businesses. My main love is developing and implementing brand new solutions to the market.

One such solution I just completed is DoConference.com, a new web based video conferencing platform. It's is expecially ideal for trainers and consultants who conduct webinars online. We are offering a 14 day free trial of DoConference.com to those who are interested.

I look forward to meeting you in future events and online. If I can assist in any way with any of our I.T. and Marketing solutions, I would appreciate the opportunity.

Brian - I have had the same college nightmare with one addition. I am bare foot. I realize on my way to take the final that I have forgotten my shoes. I can't attend class without the shoes. Once I find my shoes I can't remember how to tie them. THAT's also when I realize I never attended the class. Wow! Thanks for reminding me Brian! It's time to shake that off and begin again.
Seriously - I appreciate your leadership on Tuesdays

Greg, I appreciate you sharing your story. However, I fear that it's going to conjur up bad dreams tonight of me going to take a college final exam only to realize that I have no idea where the building is and that I never actually attended any of the classes.

I really believe that more people would really enjoy our growing and vibrant group. There are things that I share in meetings with my friends and colleagues in BRN that I would never feel comfortable sharing in other networking groups. To be transparent with each other like we all were today talking about our strenghts, passions and what we need to improve upon helps to build deeper trust and stronger business relationships. BRN is an awesome collection of people.

Greg, Big smiles from me! I admire you my friend and you are just the kinda guy that I want to associate with and that I joined BRN to find. You are a 'what ever it takes' kinda guy. Consider celebrating that you are one of the few humans who would go that far to keep a commitment. I am IMPRESSED! There is no shame in making a mistake regarding which book. Celebrate the man you are based on the effort you made to keep your commitment.

3 CHEERS FOR GREG! HIP HIP HORRAY! HIP HIP HORRAY! HIP HIP HORRAY!

I might have to work that hard at getting my book and taking the test since I will be traveling Wed and in 15-17 hr a day training through Sunday. But I will do what ever it takes to match your example. :)

The Rest of the Story
My commitment to BRN this week was to buy the book Dr. Charles Shinaver believes will help us achieve greatness in our career. That kind of help is exactly why I joined BRN. I planned to buy the book by Monday so I could read some of it before our Tuesday meeting. Then I planned to turn on the jets and become an over achiever.
My Monday was booked tightly with business. My time management voice told me to buy the book at Borders in the early evening while I was down town on business. I needed to hit the UPS hub at 16th street. Then the main city post office by Lucas oil Stadium. That would put me several blocks from Borders. I carried out the plan only to find that Borders closed at 7 PM. I arrived at 7:05. I thought, “Why the heck does a retail store across the street from Circle Centre Mall that close at 7:00? Even though Indianapolis’ downtown residential population is increasing, it’s stores are still rolling up the side walk at 7:00….very cosmopolitan”!
It is important to me that I follow through with this commitment. So I walked over to Circle Centre Mall to check out their book store….they don’t have one.!?... Don’t get me started! I began to think about my evening commitments. It would have been easy at that point to blow off the book, but it would have gone against my promise. The closest book store to me was 86th St. So I drove up there and bought the book. It felt great to go the extra mile and accomplish the task regardless of the hassle factor. Back at home I started reading through the book and comparing it to Dr. Shinaver’s e-mail. I discovered I bought the wrong book. Not really the result I was looking for. In fact it felt a little hollow. At today’s meeting I admitted to the group that I didn’t buy the right book.
I left the meeting, went to the book store, bought the book Strengths Finder 2.0 and I will go on line this evening to assess my strengths…I don't need the book to tell me that digesting information from an e-mail after reading it once is something that I need to work on.

I SECOND THAT!! :) Wow what a day we had. Brian was just fabulous and it was truly special for us to have pit passes and get up close to the cars, the drivers and the action. I must say belonging to BRN has some terrific perks besides the great people, great support and masterminding.

I wanted to say a special THANK YOU to Brian Koning of BTK & Associates/Business Roundtable Network and Conquest Racing for their kindness and generosity. I was at the track on Sunday to watch bump day qualifying with my daughter. They gave us pit passes. My daughter had the time of her life! She was star struck by the drivers and in aw of the cars and teams.
Your kindness created father/daughter memories that will live for a lifetime.
I can’t thank you enough.
Sincerely,

Greg Phelps
