Now with the CIB issue on the table I would only assume this is going to just more of a days work for the legislators.

Yea, it looks like it would cost... but not a ton. Here's what I found on from the Indy Star.

"The special session would cost at least $25,720 for the 150 lawmakers' pay alone, even if it lasted only one day, based on $12,420 in daily expense pay plus a once-a-week charge of $13,300 in travel expenses.
A five-day special session would cost $75,400, according to calculations by the Legislative Services Agency."

Nonetheless... do you think that this time of cooling off will lead to a quick resolution to the budget issue?

Thanks for the invite Alane. This will be a great place to keep abrest of the developments in the state budget. Looks like they're starting to hammer things out now, with an aim of holding the special session on June 15th. Anyone have news on how it's going so far?

I haven't followed up on it much lately, but I'm hoping Indiana Gaming Commission laws (for want of better phrase) are changed to allow for table games at the horse tracks and a land-based casino in Marion County. Perhaps my reasons are purely personal, but I do believe it's time to allow for gaming on dry land.
