Smaller Indiana

Making people and ideas findable

Our recent media survey revealed that Smoosiers are WAY more likely than most to use Twitter. Over 100 folks are following the Smaller Indiana feed. We send all recent activity into the feed. Is this useful? Or would you like to see a different or filtered feed of, say, just blog posts? And what else / who else are you following? Please share with us how your use of Twitter is evolvoing (for both business and personal use). Share your experiences here

Indeed. I have been saying every continent except Antarctica .

What's wrong with Antarctica? (Our current weather excluded) What did those penguins ever do to you? :)

LOL... I love Antarctica, and next to the Cardinal, the penguin is my favorite bird. I meant that I haven't seen any twitter users from that continent yet.

Global grassroots communication at the speed of light is a way cool thing.

Sounds like you have a quest. this could be interesting.

I can send you an Antarctic Tweet but it's pretty much an automated posting to a blog by scientists there. Still, it is Antarctica. Lemme know.

yes... please =)

YOU don't have ANY penguins following you? LOL

Thanks everyone for this discussion. I read every comment. I'm still a bit baffled by Twitter, but I want to get with the program. I'll do my best to incorporate your suggestions asap.

My course on "Emerging Technologies" CIT 499 has a Twitter feed @cit499

Please be "patient" with my students because they don't quite "get it" YET :-)

There is also a lifestream

In response to the suggestions we have created a second Twitter Feed:
twitter.com/SIBlogFeed is just the blog feed. and twitter.com/smaller_indiana is all the activity. So you can choose how much information you want from Smaller Indiana

Lorraine,

Did you realize that @smoosiers is just blogs? Do you want both accounts for SI blog feeds?

I tend to only follow people have' met or friends of people I've met. There's way too much noise in the SmIN feed for me. It's like FriendFeed on steroids.

I was just telling Kyle the other day that interestingly, I get more response from Twitter -> Facebook than from Twitter itself. I'm guessing it's that my personal social circles are more active on Facebook.

I agree with Noah's idea, if I wanted a feed of all SmIN activity I'd subscribe to the RSS.
