What "Bites" about working out of a Starbucks & Panera?

We all do it and are frustrated by different things....Please let me know what are your to gripes with working or holding meetings out of cafes & coffee houses?

They are boring and crowded. I like giving my business to local businesses where I can actually hear the person I am with and have the opportunity to try different products. I love Henry's down on East St and Perk Up in Broad Ripple.

I like the idea surrounding cafes and coffee houses for work and play. I am a huge coffee fan, but I do have a gripe about meetings there. I think that the bigger coffee chains are not as private as the privately owned so, depending on the meeting or reasoning behind going, either could be annoying.

My only complaint is that wifi is not that fast, and when a lot of people are on it, it slows down to a glacial crawl.

I wouldn't say they're boring. Sure, if you go to a Starbucks, you're sitting in all the other Starbucks around the world. But if you visit a local coffee shop, it's a unique experience with their own atmosphere and their own regulars. I create a map with Doug Karr's help at www.IndyIndieCoffee.com. If you think your coffee shop is boring, try a new one and see if you can find a new favorite.

I smell like coffee when I leave, and there isn't enough privacy... How cool would it be to have a consumer and a business side of Starbucks? Cubicles on one side, and tables on the other. :)
