Making people and ideas findable

Five years ago we had our plumbers come out to the house to change the pump to our well. They had notice that the water level had dropped about three feet and I thought nothing about it after that.
Last year, along with selling water gardens, we were told of a new product that would be all the rage-Rainwater Harvesting. My thought was how can we get anybody to buy this for there homes. So we got educated on the product and the problem. I had no idea that water was the next and possible the biggest problem facing the world. Its a time bomb waiting to explode and know one knows it. We are starting to hold seminars at local Libraries and working with the water conservation programs in the area, but need more ideas on the way to get the word out about us and our product. Does anybody have any ideas?

Having lived with drought conditions for many years while residing in SW Florida, I am astonished at the lack of water conservation in this area. I think you just have to keep beating the drum, keep putting the word out there. I have been using my own bags at grocery stores for over 15 yrs, refusing all plastic and if I had to, I would occasionally use a single paper bag. Finally this issue is starting to get noticed and I am seeing more and more people making the effort to use their own bags.Do you participate in home shows? Do you have a website? Are you on Twitter? I would also contact local news organizations to see if you can get a feature article on your products and the importance of saving water. There is much confusion I think in the public realm between seeing the stories of the "flooding" and massive water everywhere and knowing that its not potable water they are looking at and the potable water is what we need to be concerned for most of all.
