Making people and ideas findable

An acquaintance of mine suggested I look into becoming a virtual assistant. He felt that with the skill and experience I have, I could definitely excel at doing something like this.

I wanted to pose a question to the professionals, executives, etc on this site .... would you utilize a virtual assistant? I want to see if this is something that's worth starting up or not.

Thank you for your time!

Yes. Most definitely! You have to be competitive with your pricing, however, and find a niche worth delving in to. This is a popular industry and it's all the rage now. Visit these sites to look what you're up against.

www.yourvirtualresource.com
www.ivaa.org
www.onlinebusinessmanager.com

You'll see pricing from $4-$20+/hour

Hi Lorin,

Before I started my company Image Savvy I worked for a virtual assisting firm in sales and marketing. It is a great service to offer to anyone who doesn't want the overhead of an employee, and or can't afford a full time employee. There are many small business owners who only need help on a project or retainer base. Find a niche market and go after it. Skills such as travel arrangements, scheduling, bookkeeping etc. are all useful to offer, and there are a lot of programs and phone systems out there that add value to the services you can provide.

Kyle and Amy ... thank you so much for taking the time to reply! The more I'm reading and learning about VA's, the more interested I am in pursuing this. As you said, Amy, I just have to find my niche and go after it!

Thanks again.
