Smaller Indiana

Making people and ideas findable

Watching the Open on TV. Is was fun to see the players live when I was there on Friday. Thanks for the tickets, Smaller Indiana!!!

Fred Funk has the tournament in the bag at this point. He's having a lot of fun.

Does anyone have any great US Senior encounters with the pros? Please share!

Hung out at the 13th hole all day today. A great time watching from the edge of the green. Earlier in the week had the chance to meet Fred Funk (caddie hospitality area). He came through the area, shook all our hands, said thanks for helping. He really came off as one of those genuinly nice guys. Good to see nice guys win!

I agree, the Open was a great event for indiana and Hamilton County. I went Thursday and sat down on the edge of the 16th green about 3pm. I finally realized that I was sitting on the grass right next to Governor Daniels who was dressed in full golf attire. I leaned over and introduced myself and the Governor and I had a nice conversation about the Open and golf in general.

I am not a Republican, but I did vote for him and I am glad I did. He is a very engaging person and man of the people.

I had a nice conversation with Randy Nichols, our Indiana Senior Amateur Champion, as we watched several groups tee off at 17th on Thursday evening. He had played earlier in the day and was out being a fan like the rest of us. Unfortuately, Randy didn't make the cut at 6 over, but he sure was a great representative of Indiana and super nice guy!
