The Right To Refuse Medical Treatment


Talk of the Nation, May 27, 2009 · Many states have laws to require parents to provide necessary medical care for children. For adults, the ethical and legal rules are clear: people have the right to decline treatment, even if it results in death.

I couldn't agree more. It infuriates me to see the government intervene in such circumstances. For the most part a human being should have the right to live as they choose and die as they choose. Who on this planet has the God given right to tell them any different?
