Smaller Indiana

Making people and ideas findable

As a somewhat recent IU graduate I am looking to take my career to the next level and am diligently seeking a position in the Social Services or Administrative fields. With an education in Human Development and Family Studies, I have gained a broad spectrum of knowledge in the factors surrounding an individual's psychological, social, and emotional growth. I'm currently looking forward to finding a position in which I can apply my knowledge and interest, on a daily basis, in order to positively affect the lives of others.

If anyone in this great community knows of any leads or opportunities, please let me know. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

Congratulations on your recent graduation!

As you are well aware, the job market has changed from only a few years ago, and finding opportunities requires more creativity and industry than ever. Engaging others on Smaller Indiana is a great example of a unique approach.

You can also network at public events. The Smaller Indiana party after the conference tomorrow would be a great place to connect with others. For social services, be sure to join the Non Profit Newsletter (http://www.nonprofitcareercenter.org/). There is also a career fair at the Sheraton downtown on July 20. You also might want to speak to a recruiter, such as Michele Urban at Ncompass (http://www.ncompass-group.com/).

Best of luck and keep up the good work!

For social services you might also try http://www.indy.gov . You may have tried this already, but I do know of a few people with your same degree that now work for the state government.

Best of luck!

Help

A few things to consider before joining Smaller Indiana:
1. We want to know the real you...Please use your real name (first and last) when you sign up, or we cannot open your account

2. We want to know the real you...Please do NOT use your Smaller Indiana blog for blatant self promotion

3. We want to see your smiling face...Please do not use logos or commercial images for your profile photo

4. Events should be posted in the events calendar, not inside blog posts

5. Please do NOT post commercial video (demo reels), or Corporate Website promotions in your blog

6. You can post pretty much anything you want on your own personal page (self promotion, etc), and you can change the style of your personal profile page to reflect your corporate identification if you so choose.

7. Please keep all comments civil and polite. It's OK to feel strongly about a subject, and it's OK to be critical of ideas, but please refrain from personal attacks of any kind.

If you witness or experience any issues, please contact admin@smallerindiana.com and we will look into the matter.

8. Smaller Indiana is supported by its members, and by corporate sponsors. If you're interested in learning more about sponsorship, please call Pat Coyle at 317 332 7878.
