Making people and ideas findable

Last night while helping my 7th grader with her homework, we ran into a problem that stumped not only my boyfriend and myself, but also about 10 other folks. We tried calling the Rose Hulman homework line, but it doesn't seem to be in operation any longer.

Is there an alternative?

What is the problem? May be I can help :-)

Here was the problem:

30 students in a class
18 study Spanish
15 study French
5 study neither
How many study both?
Please also provide the formula to determine the answer...

the answer is 8. 30 students - 5 who study neither gives you 25 students who study.

18+15 (number of students in spanish and french) -25 (number of students) gives you 8 students who study both.

I think the Homework Hotline is still operational: http://www.askrose.org/

I called during normal business hours, but they didn't answer. Ash said that they weren't doing it or that they were closed... Not sure??

If you have a library card (and you should, you work right across the street from a cool library), you can use the IMPCL service: http://www.imcpl.org/kids/tutorauth.php

Cool online system.

Great suggestion, Jake! I don't have a card. If I live in Morgan Co but have a biz by the IMPCL can I get a card there without purchasing a PLAC card?
