I found our fourth employee on SI about 10 months ago on Smaller Indiana, and are currently looking at someone else from SI to become our sixth employee. The biggest value of SI is the people. The site has also opened up lines of communication that has helped create some great mutual partnerships with local firms. Partnerships that have significantly grown our business.

Glad to hear your growing, Jim. I hope you let those new employees spend time in social media while on the job ;-0

Here at Compendium we have made great use of SI both from a recuriting standpoint which has been covered. Perhaps bigger value has been in forging partnerships with like minded service providers who have offerings that offset what we do here. Just off the top of my head, we have worked with Nicki Laycoax, Stephanie Zircher, presented to Jim Browns MBO conference, met Dave Castor and Janet Croswell who now are key members of our legal team, just had a meeting with Mike Seidle and Paul Lorinczi about some work with Problog Services....a relationship that came through meeting Erik Deckers all networked through SI.

We have gained clients like Aaron Ware and Doug Theis and Eric Tinsley....just off the top of my head.

Perhaps the biggest opportunity is the ability to brainstorm and be challenged by some of the best minds in internet marketing. Folks like Kyle Lacy and Doug Karr who are nationally recognized as leaders in the Social Media space.

One thing about SI is it's a family and people will tell you how they see it :-) Not many places I can go to get beat up and SI is one of them. It's a real community.

Great stories, Chris. Thanks for sharing. You and your team are great partners and such a valuable part of Indy and Smaller Indiana. (Thanks for letting me borrow your conference room yesterday)

It was the members of Smaller Indiana that helped me secure a $5K donation from Quaker Oats for Gleaner's Food Bank back in March. Without their support and passion of all things local it would have been next to impossible to get this donation for Indiana's Hungry.

I just told this Quaker story at an Indy Ad Club luncheon today...keep up that passionate bloggin, Casey.

Yes, Smaller Indiana has helped my business.

A couple of months ago I put out a call for people interested in taking part in a photo session I was doing to offer people low cost head shots. I needed volume to do it. Through Smaller Indiana, I was able to pick up several customers.

The good thing about Smaller Indiana is when you're trying to whip together some entrepreneurial idea, you know you'll find people who are already inclined to see the value in something you're offering.

I'll certainly include Smaller Indiana the next time I organize that, or any other photo session that relies on volume.

Tuitive has an amazing Project Manager that found us through SI, and one of our biggest jobs/clients came from an introduction made for me at the first SI "1000 member" party!
