shortly After joining smaller indiana, I had a falling out with my employer and we decided to part ways. I decided to start my own business called CATALIST CONSULTING ... basically turning creating stategic relationships into a business. I was one of the first 200 or so people in SI and made connections and was able to research and get feedback on starting business, and the WHOLE social networking thing was TOTALLY NEW to me at the time, SMALLER INDIANA was my first ever social networking site. Since then I have used SI and the SOCIAL NETWORKING SKILLS i learned by being a part of SI to launch entire entities, grow my business by starting out as just me to being an 8 person company 1 year later. WE just hired an Operations Manger to handle all the business and employees etc...

Moreover, because of the BE MORE SERVE MORE philosphy that being a RAINMAKER and SMOOSIER has helped me refine, I started and ONLINE COMMUNITY in december specifically towards helping people in job transition using SOCIAL NETWORKING. Now CATALIST JOBS.COM has grown to almost 300 people and my analytics attribute a lot of that growth directly to SI.

I learned how to communicate better on the web, use the tools and drive traffic to my business and others, promote event based brand awareness, manage relationships with people that don't keep the same business hours or even on the same side of town for that matter. I have made multiple friends, a few enemies... and a lot of money.

I have used my knowlege and freely given it to hundreds of people and helped them grow their NOT FOR PROFIT, their BUSINESS, and their personal relationships.

When the FLOODS came to CENTRAL INDIANA ( FRANKLIN ) specifically, I used my SI network to launch and show people the devastation that had taken place in our community, by uploading video and sharing and letting peole know, SI became a powerful communication tool for me to COORDINATE VOLUNTEERS for the entire county. within 24 hours of the flood I was coordinating hundreds of volunteers and I used TECHNOLOGY and SOCIAL NETWORKING to communicate with multiple people to have a great impact.

The Newspaper Articles mentioned the network, but they didn't mention the TOOLS specifically... they left out SMALLER INDIANA... even though I told them about it by name. Oh well...

BOTTOM LINE... the people and the CONNECTIONS that SMALLER INDIANA bring don't always agree with me on every level, but it is the ENGAGEMENT and the ENERGY that keeps me coming back.

PEOPLE, IDEAS, CONNECTIONS, ABUNDANCE, ENGAGEMENT, PROFIT.

In LIFE, it is all about RELATIONSHIPS, built on TRUST, TRUST of CHARACTER, COMPETANCE, CHEMISTRY and last but not least ability to COMMUNICATE and resolve CONFLICT in an HONORABLE way... Smaller Indiana provides a platform to meet, learn, and grow in relationships, hold each other accountable to committments, words, actions, and COMMUNICATE effectively.

I now have 4 entities that I am growing and managing, all debt free... and all making a profit... THANKS SMALLER INDIANA FOR BEING A BIG PART OF IT.

Smaller Indiana has helped me make personal and professional connections that have led to business opportunities, speaking opportunities, and even my current job as a professional blogger.

Though unrelated to the IBJ story, Everyone, I need your help.

If you are going to the 6,000 Member Party, please bring your old cell phone and charger so that we can help unfortunate people in our community have an open line of communication. We can have that cell phone cleaned out and reactivated within 24 hours and in the hands of a disenfranchised person needing a hand up and not an hand out.

Please help.

Just today I've had 5 intakes.

We have no phones.

One lady is an insulin dependant veteran wh'll have no phone to call her doctor in case of emegency. Her home service is being disconnected after today because she has no way of paying her bill.

People of our community need help.

Please help me to help them.

Look for me and my "recycle" box at the Rathskellar on Wednesday.

Thanks to you all!

Help

A few things to consider before joining Smaller Indiana:
1. We want to know the real you...Please use your real name (first and last) when you sign up, or we cannot open your account

2. We want to know the real you...Please do NOT use your Smaller Indiana blog for blatant self promotion

3. We want to see your smiling face...Please do not use logos or commercial images for your profile photo

4. Events should be posted in the events calendar, not inside blog posts

5. Please do NOT post commercial video (demo reels), or Corporate Website promotions in your blog

6. You can post pretty much anything you want on your own personal page (self promotion, etc), and you can change the style of your personal profile page to reflect your corporate identification if you so choose.

7. Please keep all comments civil and polite. It's OK to feel strongly about a subject, and it's OK to be critical of ideas, but please refrain from personal attacks of any kind.

If you witness or experience any issues, please contact admin@smallerindiana.com and we will look into the matter.

8. Smaller Indiana is supported by its members, and by corporate sponsors. If you're interested in learning more about sponsorship, please call Pat Coyle at 317 332 7878.
