Making people and ideas findable

My organization, the Marion County Commission on Youth (MCCOY), is looking for a new program (either online or software-based) for managing projects (setting and meeting objectives, tracking contacts and important documents, etc.).

Does anyone know of a good one? Conversely, does anyone know of one we should avoid at all costs? We are interested in hearing about both, as we would like to distribute a "report" of our findings to the agencies with which we work. Thanks for your help!

Amelia - the best way to get going quickly is to go with an online project management tool like Basecamp. They have a variety of subscriptions options depending on your budget and needs. Alternatives to Basecamp are Central Desktop and Huddle.

I second Basecamp. I also recommend Harvest as a plug in for time tracking and Highrise as a CRM.

You should talk to Mack Earnhardt at Agile Reasoning - he's the guru at database management. The office phone is: 317.542.3145 • email: info@agilereasoning.com.

We love Basecamp! We have some employees that are off-site and it really allows for great communication when multiple people are working on multiple parts of a project.

I have a client that has the perfect project management software based on the basic description you've provided. They can customize it to your needs instead of you customizing your process to it. If you'd like to hear more please get in touch with me. I'd love to connect you with him.
