Smaller Indiana

Making people and ideas findable

I am looking for help in figuring out financing for a small business. I have been working on the business plan and even gone to a SBA seminar however I am still not sure about financing. I unfortunately don't have any money to invest (with the exception of using my house as collateral)

Can anyone offer any suggestions or information

Thanks

Call the Business Ownership Initiative of Indiana. They offer free business counseling and free or inexpensive workshops, and can help walk you through the whole loan process. Bob Cole at the Information Desk can set up an appointment for you. 917-3266 ext. 100.

Depending on the size of the loan he needs, a microloan might be enough. BOI specializes in microenterprises but does it hurt to give them a call and find out if it's a good resourse for him?

Rae,

Thank you I will check into it. I believe if someone is interested in doing something and has their heart in it they will check all possible avenues before just giving up because someone says "that might not work"

I'd suggest that you "dial for dollars" and avoid making any public solicitation for investment funds. There are state and federal securities laws involved, and a public solicitation for an unregistered security is a huge "no-no."

There are 10,000's of websites, articles, blogs, etc. that described what "dialing for dollars" means.

If you need more help, contact me.

Best wishes.
