Making people and ideas findable

Brace yourself. You're going to see Crazy Aunt Lisa this weekend...Ah...Crazy Aunt Lisa...you love her, you hate her...you only see her once a year, yet you will never forget what she did last year...you find yourself wonderin: will she bring her medication this year?

...Many of us Smoosiers will be gathering with relatives today. For most of us the reunions will be sweet. For others, gathering with family dredges up years of pent up frustrations and skeletons in the closets...and we're forced to face the Crazy Aunt Lisas of the world...

Since all my family and all my inlaws are in Florida, it's just my husband, son and I today. But that's ok because both families are frought with Crazy Aunt Lisas. (Or Aunt Mary or Uncle Stewart or Aunt Barbara or Uncle Stuart etc. etc. in our case. Even Gammy and Zayde are likely to cause some eye rolling and head shaking.)

I don't think our family has a Crazy Aunt Lisa. Does that mean *I* am our Crazy Aunt Lisa? :)

Happy Thanksgiving, all!

Scott - I don't know about you being the crazy one in your family, but I take pride in being Crazy Uncle Andy! Happy Tryptophan Day to All and to All a Good Nap!

Ohhh, why does you being Crazy Uncle Andy not surprise me at all?

I dealt with the crazy side of our family this summer. We severed ties, which is sad from the family aspect, but from the positive side we are a lot better off.

This Thanksgiving we are celebrating our AT&T U-Verse with Hi-Def football and free movies. I LOVE U-VERSE!!!!!

I look around at my family of origin and think it's entirely possible that I'm crazy Aunt Nila because I do nutty things like sleep in on Sundays, refuse to vote a straight ticket and do really weird work (Is brand strategy really that weird? Come on!). Sure, there's that time that I taught my great-nephew to eat the birthday cake without using hands. And years earlier, I introduced his father to The Rocky Horror Picture Show weekly midnight showing. (He still hasn't stopped talking about that.) Oh yeah, I think I took one of my nephews to "hot dog" a friend's car one time. (Sorry Mike.) That might look a little crazy. But at least I know how to have fun. Right? I'd like to make my case for being the sane one right here on Smaller Indiana, but my poor siblings don't have a chance to defend themselves. One of them doesn't even have a computer. Now THAT'S crazy! So, for now, I'll simply revel in my Turkey-free Thanksgiving. And take my medication.

Happy Thanksgiving Smoosiers!

Wow, this one got me. I'm the "Crazy Aunt Lisa" - NOT. Anyway, lets just say that life is what you make of it. If you choose to always recognize the craziness that a person does for attention, the craziness is all that you will ever see. Its time that people look outside of all the negative. A family is not something that you can pick & choose, if they are family, they are family, everyone needs love. I challenge you all to notice to the good qualities that you think these "Crazy People" have & just ignore the craziness, I guarantee you'll find something that makes you love them for who they are! Not what you think they should be! Happy Holidays!.........signed, Crazy Aunt Lisa (if that's the way you choose to see me)
