Making people and ideas findable

So far this year Twitter has sent over 5,100 visitors to Smaller Indiana. Note the lift in traffic from Twitter in May and June when our PR sponsors, Roundpeg, stepped up efforts to Tweet about the Smaller Indiana, Bigger Ideas conference. Smaller Indiana requests for new memberships have also increased during this time, so Twitter seems to be having a positive impact on our community. While 90 visits a day from Twitter isn't going to make anyone rich, we are excited about the possibilites of continue growth in this area; and we're curious to know if anyone else is tracking success from Twitter usage. Do you have any Twitter success stories? Please share them here

I have an Etsy shop online where I sell handmade goods, and I have had many sales that were due exclusively to Twitter. Its been a great marketing and networking tool for me!

How do you define a twitter success story, Pat?

I just wrote a blog post about the twitter success story in Iran. I also read a news article a few days ago about Dell attributing $3 Million in sales directly to twitter.

I was hoping to hear about local biz who've seen direct benefit from Twitter, but International political upheaval is also important :-)

Here's just one of mine-I was able to raise over $500 for my Susan G Komen Race for the Cure goal solely through Twitter.

One more-I got a project for Squish through Twitter. It was as a result of a Tweet that I posted asking if anyone needed a website or any web work done. The project came from Chicago, and was not as a result of any networking locally. Pretty cool!

Oh, here's another- I attended Zoobilation free of charge as an official Twitterer for the event. :)

I have a feeling that I could keep going, but I'll stop here.
