Making people and ideas findable

CONGRATULATIONS GRADUATES! And you too Mom & Dad...NOW WHAT?

As the father of a graduating senior at Danville Community High School, I've been fascinated with the changes I've seen in my baby girl over the years... but especially this year! She has taken on for the first time in her life so many of the responsibilities and decisions that we parents have routinely handled for years and not thought twice about. But these have been BIG QUESTIONS for her and for us. What school will she attend in the fall? What major(s) should she declare? Should she declare a major yet at all? How will she adjust to life on campus? Will she even miss us?!! Will we have enough to pay for it?

These are all big, worrisome questions.

But you know what? As I sat in the DCHS Auditorium this past Saturday night and watched my daughter and so many others be recognized for excellence in academics, and sports and community service, I sat back in my seat and relaxed just a little bit. With as crazy as this world has become, and seemingly so much more complex than the world I grew up in... I have a deep confidence in these "kids" and know that we're all gonna be just fine! These are great kids!!

So Congrats to you Graduates of the Class of 2009! And congrats to all you caring, concerned parents out there!

Hey Mom & Dad...YOU DONE GOOD!

Now, If you will all forgive this shameless plug, I just happen to be pretty much an expert in Indiana's 529 College Savings Plan. And even if you haven't saved enough or even begun to save, if you are writing ANY checks to any accredited institute of higher learning, inside the state or out, then there are SUBSTANTIAL TAX CREDITS available to you that TOO MANY PEOPLE aren't taking advantage of. Call me, I can help.
