Making people and ideas findable

Hello Artists!

I would like to invite you to be part of an art show I am helping to organizing. Maria from CFF is putting this event on to help raise money for The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. This is an awesome cause. Cystic Fibrosis (CF) is a fatal lung disease that primarily affects children and shortens their life expectancy to an average of 37 years old. It is a privately funded Please read the details below and let me know if you or anyone you know might be interested in participating.

Here are all of the current details:

The show will be held Friday, August 28nd at the Rathskeller downtown in the main ballroom at 7:30p.m.

Maria is asking each artist for an entry fee of $20 and to donate 25% of their proceeds from the evening of the art show to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. The entry fee will be due the evening of the event, the money from proceeds due a week after the event. I am charging guests $5 to attend the event- all of this will go to the CF Foundation. We are estimating anywhere from 1000 – 1500 people to attend.

The ballroom space is very large but they cannot accomodate everyone. If you would like to participate please let me know size and about how many paintings...she only need estimates- we just don't overpack the place :) We can't hang any of our art on the walls. My suggestion would be to bring something to display your work on……there will be round tables there to use if needed. Essentially you will have your own area to create your own “booth/area” to display your work. So think about what that looks like for you… You may want to have business cards, decorate your booth, whatever you want to do to make your area your own. Keep in mind that small pieces of art don’t usually show well on the floor, but if you have large pieces showing them on the floor would be fine.

Please no distasteful, provacative, morbid...pieces. I expect some of the Cystic Fibrosis families to attend with their children and just want to keep it classy.

You will be responsible for labeling your own art and determining how you want to sell it. Each artist may have a set price, a minimum price/silent auction, or leave it open ended. It is up to the artists to arrange payments with the buyer - whether you take a check/cash/or promise to pay. You might want to think about bringing some cash to use as change if someone what to buy your art with cash. Please note that you don't have to sell the art if you don't want to. You are invited to bring your favorite/best pieces to show off- but keep in mind that I am advertising this as a show where the art will be for sale...

Please also be prepared to take your art and display materials home with you the night after the show J

The Rathskeller will set up a bar and food for guests to purchase as they desire.

I am working on bringing in live music for the event.

If you have any questions (or suggestions :)) please email Maria Muhlenkamp, the main artist, at mmuhlenkamp@hotmail.com or call at 765-749-3584.

Please know this is going to be an awesome and huge opportunity and a ton of fun. I can’t wait to hear from you and see all the wonderful talents you all have!
