Making people and ideas findable

85 artists and the studios in which they work? Food by Jazz Kitchen, Zing, Zest, Meridian, and other local restaurants? Classic cars for auto enthusiasts? Who can resist?

For my art event this week, I'll be attending Stutz Artists' Open House this weekend; will you? Let's meet up!

This to me is the best art event in the city, bar none. You bet I will be there on Friday night.

Hey Rick stop by my studio - B245. Do you need a discount ticket? Buzz me. Know anyone else who needs one? I have 4 left for $8 each. They are $12 at the door.

I will, glad to know you will be there!

It's been on our calendar since the date was announced. See you there Friday night.

I'll be there supporting my wife's art career by pouring wine and trying to sound like I know what I'm talking about when someone asks me about the artist and she's otherwise engaged at that moment.

I also plan on sneaking out (when she's not looking) to check out the wonderful array of work on display throughout this wonderful old building.

If you haven't been, please pencil this into your calendar - food, drink, frivolity and terrific art, how can you beat that? If you have been, you know what I'm talking about so I'm sure you'll be back.

P.S. - Bring your checkbook or credit card. The art values to be had are second to none in the city, with something cool for every price range. Consider it your very own stimulus package for the arts!

Sure, we wouldn't want to miss this. We're going to make sure to stop by the ArtBox and Sue Hazer's studio, and check in on Lois Templeton and Phil O'Malley.

See you all there,
dh

Great to see so many people attending! I'll look for all of you at the event. It's my first time attending, so I am excited to see what it's all about. I am aiming for Friday, but have to be in Valparaiso for work, so I might end up attending on Saturday.

Wouldn't miss it! It's a very special day for me. Visiting artists & friends and having a great time. I've been looking forward to this event for months!

Welcome back to Indy, Nancy!

Absolutely, we're attending! My PR firm is located at the Stutz. It's a great place to work - lots of creative energy in the building! If you can't make it to the Show this weekend, stop in during one of the First Friday events - several studio artists open their studios at the same time once a month!

I used to love going to this but have a hard time spending money to get into something where I might spend money. It is like a mall charging cover. I miss getting to know local artist there, getting pointers and seeing their studios.

Hi, this is Karen Land from the Stutz Artists Association.

We charge admission for the Open House because it is the sole fundraiser for our Residency Program, which provides free studio space to two local emerging artists each year. (We also need to cover event costs such as security, entertainment, and renting extra parking lots.) We are a non-profit, volunteer organization of artists and hold public art events free of charge each First Friday throughout the year.

Michael, I hope you will come out and enjoy what is shaping up to be the biggest and best open house yet! Or, come see us for one of our free events throughout the year.
