Making people and ideas findable

Dear SM Friends:

Young Survival Coalition's 3rd Annual Adopt a Family for Christmas Program is in full swing!
This program began in 2006 when they adopted one family at Christmas time. Last year they were blessed to be able to help 10 families! There are many families again this Holiday season whose battle with breast cancer has played havoc with their finances and who really need YSC's help.
Currently ten families have asked to be “adopted” and all have submitted wish lists (I will forward to those interested).
If you would like to donate an item or items, please email Kristine at swckcc@gotown.net or 317-679-9383 ASAP. She will keep track of who is donating what and what remains on each list.

Please feel free to pass this e-mail on to friends and family who might be interested in helping!

Thank you for your kindness!

Great idea, Stacey/ Amy!

I had an aunt who outlived breast cancer and lived for 30+ years.

My brother had a secretary who died in her 30s from breast cancer.

It is particularly devastating to young families.

Breast Cancer seems to hit home for almost everyone. I was introduced to YSC this year. They support women in Indianapolis who have been diagnosed with breast cancer. They have this adopt a family for Christmas for families who have medical bills or other outstanding bills and need help during the holidays. There is also a family who's house burned down and have no decorations. I'm gathering a few things for them. They have requested table top Christmas tree and something to have on the door. I would like to start something earlier next year for collecting decorations and giving them to families in similar situations.
thanks for the reply!
