Where do I start? Can you imagine?? The SUPER BOWL is coming to INDIANAPOLIS!!

This story goes all the way back to a time when building a new stadium in Indy was not a foregone conclusion...over the past several years a lot of water has flowed under the bridge, and now after thousands of hours of hard work by hundreds people all around central Indiana (and across the country)...the Biggest game in the world is coming to Indy.

Congratulations to NFL owners for making the right decision.

Congratulations to the Mayor, Governor, Mark Miles, Jack Swarbrick and the entire bid committee...and also to Jim Irsay, who has been a rock in the center of all this activity.

This truly is a community effort. Congratulations Indianapolis and Indiana!

This is so exciting!! And pretty darn amazing -- just three short years ago I was standing in an empty parking lot for the groundbreaking of Lucas Oil (then Indiana) Stadium. It's been awesome to watch it go up, and now in just a few years it will be center of a celebration like this city hasn't seen before!

How sweet is that! Hope people like Indiana in the dead of winter :) !!!

I think it is an absolute blessing that Indy will host the 2012 Super Bowl. The feel of downtown Indianapolis needs to be realized by the entire nation. I know that we get world travelers attending for sporting events such as the Indianapolis 500 and the mini-marathon as well as the Tennis Championsips and much more but this will truly put us on the sports and hospitality map. Nice work Indianapolis!

I just have two words, Woo Hoo!

When will tickets be available?

Let me second the Woo Hoo!!!! This is awesome, and what a great chance to show the rest of the country just how cool ( not winter cold, but interesting, cool) a place Indy really is. With a dose of Hoosier Hospitality, they may never want to go south again!

Way to go! Let's show that Hoosier Hospitality to all. Build it, they will come.

Congratulations to all involved!! Well done!
This is great! How does the city and the NFL work together to make this happen? Does the NFL do it all, do they send out RFPs to the hosting city, does the city request bids for supporting events? When does implementation begin? Where does one start researching all this?
