Making people and ideas findable

There are a bazillion (yes, I counted) web 2.0 apps that claim to boost productivity and make life easier. Truth be told, most of them just create more work rather than saving time.
Have you found one that really makes a difference in your day? How you work? What is it?

Mine is Rememberthemilk.com . The site itself isn't that great but their add-on for gmail and their iphone app makes my day a whole lot easier!

Since the new year began, Don't Break the Chain has been "motivating" me!

Since i got my ipod touch its been the ToDo list application that you can install after jail breaking it. Its just like rememberthemilk, but no need to wait for the internet connection.

That in conjunction with the calendar app and gmail on the ipod touch just makes my life 100x easier.

I just started using Basecamp (www.basecamphq.com) last month to help organize my site to-do list. It's a great site, but it does cost a little $$ to get a good package. It's been a great help so far tracking to-do lists, milestones, events, documents, and even images. The main reason I started using this is to help stay better organized with my developers outside of Indiana. They can login and update their tasks/goals and it allows me to track everyones progress.

There are plenty of applications out there. I think the key is actually using them well. I know plenty of people that use Gmail, but they don't tag. Now, Then, Later or such. It would be hard for me to get things done without email tagging or removing items if you aren't going to do them. Decisions are heard to make, but you really need to understand Getting Things Done (GTD) and then apply YOUR system to the application.

I love todoist.com - its a great app for keeping track of what's keeping you busy. Even better, it has a handy Open-Source API you can use to share your todo list out on a website, allow others to add/edit list items, etc.
