Heck.. list as many as you want. Let's get a collaborative list going. I would love to get some more reading material for the Google Reader.

My BlogDay post listed the following blogs:
  1. Interaction Culture
Started as a course blog for the HCI/d graduate program last year, Assistant Professor Jeffrey Bardzell's continuation of this channel has been a pleasant surprise. Jeff's academic work includes amateur multimedia and virtual fashion, but his core interest in developing a theory of "interaction criticism" that draws from his literary background. He's a bright guy with an unhealthy love of hockey, a topic I hope will crop up in his blog posting at some point.
  2. Notta Blog
Josh Evnin is one of my favorite peers from the fourth graduate HCI/d class at SOI. As I was planning to ruin my family's finances for the rest of this decade, I was jealous of his search for an industry job. He found a good one with Thoughtworks and has used the experience to feed his blog.
  3. Drewidia
The newest class of HCI/d students includes Drew McKinney, a consultant-turned-academic who is bringing some startup expertise to Bloomington for a couple years (at least). His latest project, Craigsmonitor, became an Apple iPhone Staff Pick last week. I imagine he will have some interesting insights to share on design and business as he works on his Masters degree.
  4. Areas of My Expertise
Dry comedian John Hodgman is one of my favorite reporters from The Daily Show. He also blogs, SOMETIMES IN CAPS. That is all.
  5. Garfield Minus Garfield
Dan Walsh removed the main character, the fat cat Garfield, from his own comic strip and revealed "the existential angst of a certain young Mr. Jon Arbuckle." Even original creator Jim Davis likes the idea.

Kyle has already commented on some of my favorites:

Mike Fruchter at My Thoughts on Social Media:
Erik Deckers. The Laughing Stalk.
The Marketing Technology Blog by Douglas Karr.
They would all be in my top five, but the point of this activity is to introduce new blogs, here are some others that make my top list.
  1. Kyle Lacy - Ok, so I am not sure I would even know what a social network was if it wasn't for Kyle. An avid, possibly compulsive web junkie, he is continually trying out new sites, and sharing his opinions. Which may include humor, attitude, and more than a little sarcasm.
  2. Louis Gray - Who describes his blog as a Silicon Valley Blog for early adopters, technology geeks, RSS addicts and Mac freaks. Ok, so I have to admit, sometimes I have no idea what he is talking about, but his writes ups, and favorite picks are a great way to learn about what is new on the net.
  3. Patric Welch - Alias Mr. Noobie boils down technology for the very, very novice. I love his sense of humor when he describes his battles with technology. On the complete opposite end of the spectrum from Louis, but equally fun to read.
  4. Is This Stupid? - Tina (aka stupid blogger) defines her site as an outlet to poke fun at some of the stupidest things she comes across. While much of the posts are about tech she doesn't stop there. As she says, the Internet doesn't have a patent on stupid. whether she is taking on Monkey Spankers or people who want to follow their houseplants on Twitter, she does it with attitude and a great sense of humor!
  5. Ok, I'm done.. I know I should have another one, but honestly, by the time I am done reading these four, and the three above.. misc posts on SI and FriendFeed the day is over!

Found my fifth choice - used to be called Taking Down Words is Now the Hoosier Political Report - sassy, funny, smart, though slightly biased political perspectives

Wow, there's no way I could even come close to pairing down to my 5 favorites. I read a few hundred via feed and each of them provides their own perspective, has their own strengths, and either educates me, makes me think, or makes me laugh.

Like most techie people these days, I read a bunch of blogs. So I'll try to list some lesser known ones.

Thinkbeta - Entrepreneurship & Innovation focus that's done by a professor @ Purdue University

Study Hacks - Intriguing blog on various studying tips/tricks and life in general. Tends to have implications that extend beyond the classroom.

Trizle - Peter Drucker mixed with some Brian Tracy mixed with some Snoop Dogg. Done by a tech consulting firm. Their advice is usually applicable to folks of all industries.

Gary Vaynerchuk - high intensity, highly motivational short video blogs. He has hardcore supporters.

Six Minutes - blog on public speaking and presenting
