COMEDYSPORTZ INDIANAPOLIS PRESENTS A CHRISTMAS CAROL: UNSCRIPTED
Charles Dickens’s Holiday Classic gets the Improv Treatment from Indy’s only Professional Comedy Theatre Company and your 2011 ComedySportz World Champions!

Indianapolis... Looking for an alternative to the typical holiday show? ComedySportz Indianapolis, the city’s only professional comedy theatre company, will reinvent the story of Ebenezer Scrooge through comic improvisation for four Friday evening performances (and one Thursday Night) during the 2011 holiday season.  After audiences provide suggestions, the professional improv performers of ComedySportz will mix them up with A Christmas Carol, and an old, familiar story will become something new and hilarious! 

Performances of A Christmas Carol: Unscripted begin on Friday, November 25th at 10:00pm and continue every Friday evening until December 30th 10:00pm.  Doors will open at 9:30, at which time audience members will be asked to write down quotes, expressions, song lyrics, movie and T.V. dialogue onto small pieces of paper.  The performers of ComedySportz will incorporate these into the story.  Audience members will also have the opportunity to give additional suggestions throughout the performance.  Fans familiar with the performers of ComedySportz know that they  weave the suggestions into the spectacle effortlessly, seamlessly, and hilariously.

Though the key structure of Charles Dickens’s story will be maintained,  comical changes will naturally occur.  Instead of a moneylender, Ebenezer Scrooge might be a day-trader or a florist;  Marley’s ghost might be burdened with a chain made from old coffeemakers or poodles; Tiny Tim might be afflicted by dandruff or an irrational fear of towels.  The possibilities are limitless!

Though performers from ComedySportz will be performing A Christmas Carol: Unscripted, they will be doing so without the famous ComedySportz referee watching their every move, and will thus be unburdened by the ComedySportz Brown Bag Foul.  For this reason, A Christmas Carol: Unscripted is only appropriate for those who are 17 and older.
